Cynosure Communications offers a constellation of related client identification, acquisition, and retention services for companies and organizations that provide professional services. It also offers specialized marketing and business development services for firms in the design professions, and leads seminars on Writing to WinSM techniques and a variety of marketing, communications and sales topics. Custom Research
For professional associations and firms, research can be commissioned in the areas of client experience and satisfaction, buyer preferences, firm image and market awareness, market trends, and competitive intelligence. When done for firms, the research is proprietary to the firm. Professional associations may contract for proprietary research as well, or may choose a more economical option, in which the research is presented first to the association and its members, and is then, after a negotiated time frame, incorporated into Cynosure Communications’ general databank for possible use in articles, seminars, and, if relevant, updates to The Inside Scoop.

Strategic Planning
For companies or departments or teams within a company, this service includes internal research and assessment of stakeholder agendas, facilitation of planning sessions, and preparation of succinct, focused plans that cover both strategy and implementation. Follow-up is available to assist with implementation.

Marketing Materials
Cynosure Communications uses its Writing to WinSM approach to create high-impact business and marketing communications pieces including brochures and qualification statements, client newsletters, and print and electronic mailings. To maximize the written content’s effectiveness through equally effective visual presentation, Cynosure Communications will also manage design and production, working with your graphic artists or one of its own tested design associates.

Proposal Critique and Marketing Audit
Cynosure Communications assesses the strengths and weaknesses of a firm’s proposal process and the quality of its proposals. It also audits and provides recommendations, as needed, for improving the coherence, effectiveness and impact of a company’s total marketing package and branding effort.

Proposal, Grant, Scholarship and Award Submittals
One of Cynosure Communications’ most highly acclaimed strengths is the power of its Writing to WinSM approach. Interview Preparation and Presentation Coaching
Because clients who participate in Cynosure Communications’ Writing to WinSM so often advance to the selection interview or finalist presentation phase of a competition, Cynosure Communications has focused a good portion of its ongoing research on the creation of that tie-breaking “chemistry” that clients willingly state is a critical selection component. Founding Principal Marcy Steinberg makes a point of participating as a public observer at selection interviews and judging sessions, so that she can help clients tailor their presentations to key “decision triggers” she regularly sees in action. She also provides, sometimes in collaboration with specialty presentation trainers, coaching in style and delivery.

Client Education
Providing seminars and workshops is one of the most effective marketing strategies a professional service firm can employ. Cynosure Communications will help you identify topics important to your target markets, and will help you develop, advertise, and deliver educational programs to potential clients in those markets

Media Relations and Writing
Founding Principal Marcy Steinberg started her career as a journalist, and her first writing awards were in technical writing. She continues to research and write articles on design, manufacturing and business and technical topics. She helps clients pitch and place articles in targeted trade and professional journals, and writes for clients’ newsletters and corporate magazines.

Training
Training is available in proposal writing, technical writing, marketing, public relations, sales, and presentation skills. Cynosure Communications offers in-house seminars on any of the topics shown on the Seminars page, and designs custom programs to meet specific client needs. Principal Marcy Steinberg also works directly with individuals and teams to strengthen targeted skill sets. In addition, Cynosure Communications helps firms locate specialized trainers in areas outside of its own expertise, and helps bring those trainers up-to-speed on client culture and needs.
